Japanese Auto Service – A Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business

Located in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Japanese Auto Service draws on a customer base from around the Denver-metro area, including Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, Golden, and Westminster, Colorado.

Since 1985, Japanese Auto Service, a family-owned and operated business, has provided the west Denver metro area with honest and reliable automotive service. Our focus is maintenance and repair of Japanese and Korean cars, including Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Subaru, Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda, Scion, and Hyundai.

Paperless Work Flow

We manage our workflow digitally. This means that, if a customer prefers, they can interact with us completely through their smart phone or computer. We send you the estimate, you approve it, and we send you the invoice completely online. No paper needed. Of couse, we will always print out your estimates and invoices if you like that better.

Steve Shelton

Founder, Japanese Auto Service

Steve Shelton started Japanese Auto Service in 1985 and has over 40 years in the auto repair industry. Steve is L-1 and ASE Master certified. Prior to establishing Japanese Auto Service, Steve served in the Marines, specializing in aviation electronics.

In 2010, Steve was selected as Identifix/ASE Aftermarket Drivability Technician of the Year, one of only 38 auto technicians recognized by the ASE. Steve retired in 2019.

Ross Shelton

Owner, Japanese Auto Service
Wheat Ridge / Arvada

Ross grew up in his father Steve’s shop. In 2005, he came to work full-time after a stint in the Marines where he specialized in aviation electronics, working on helicopters. Ross is ASE Master Certified.

Since Steve retired in 2019, Ross has been running the shop. Steve still comes around when he feels like it but he has to do what Ross tells him to.
