Buying a used car? Want to make sure you don’t get a lemon? Japanese Auto Service offers several levels of Used Car Inspection services. Bring it in and we’ll give it a thorough inspection. All we ask is that you give us a decent amount of warning so we can squeeze you in. Typically even a day is usually enough warning.
Our inspection includes an examination of the power train, brakes, transmission, steering, radiator, and suspension. You can tell a lot by the condition of the fluids, filters, and hoses. We often find rusted out vehicles being sold in Colorado which you want to avoid.
For a more thorough inspection we can dive into the onboard diagnostics systems and give them a health check as well.

- Inspect front and rear shocks/struts
- Inspect cv axles
- Inspect power steering fluid
- Inspect brake fluid for level and color
- Inspect transmission fluid for level and color
- Inspect engine coolant in radiator and overflow for freeze temp and level
- Inspect battery water level if accessible
- Inspect radiator hoses visually
- Inspect exterior lights
- Inspect engine air filter
- Inspect windshield wipers
- Inspect all visible drive belts
- Inspect exhaust system visually
- Inspect ball joints using special tools
- Inspect spare tire for pressure and condition if reasonably accessible
- Inspect spare tire tools if reasonably accessible
- Inspect engine oil level and condition
- Perform battery, starting and charging system test with print out
- Inspect brake pads and document remaining thickness in percent or mm
- Inspect brake shoes and document remaining thickness in percent or mm
